Scuba Instruction Anywhere in Florida

Kaitlyn is based in Venice — but she does not teach only Venice. Give her enough lead time to plan a course properly and she will travel to your part of Florida, arrange the local pool and boat access, and teach you there.

How travel instruction actually works

This is not a franchise with an instructor somewhere near you. It is one instructor, a PADI and NAUI Open Water Scuba Instructor who is also a USCG-licensed Master Captain, who will come and run your course on your coast. The shape of it:

  1. You send your dates and your area. Tell her how many divers, ages, and whether anyone is already certified. The form takes a minute.
  2. She plans the local logistics. Pool access for the confined-water skills, boat or shore access for the open-water dives, and a schedule built around the tides and the season where you live.
  3. You do the academics online, at your own pace. Self-paced e-learning is finished before the water sessions, so your in-water days are spent in the water.
  4. She teaches the course in your water. Confined-water skills, then your open-water dives — four of them for Open Water certification — with the same instructor throughout.

Give her more lead time and the plan gets better: more choice of pool, better boat slots, and a date picked for the conditions rather than against them.

Where she teaches

Every region below has its own page with the real dive sites, depths and local water, because where you learn changes what you learn. Pick your stretch of coast.

What she can run anywhere in the state

Two things that stay in Venice: the guided megalodon shark-tooth fossil dives, because that is where the fossil beds are — and her captain services out of her home port.

Honest note on cost and lead time. A travelled course is not a fixed-price product: the cost depends on how far she is driving or flying, how many divers you are, and how many days the course runs. Kaitlyn quotes every trip directly rather than publishing a number that would be wrong for most people. Send your dates and she will tell you exactly what it comes to.

Florida-wide instruction — questions

Does Kaitlyn travel to my part of Florida?

Statewide, yes. She is based in Venice and teaches along the whole coast — Tampa Bay south through Fort Myers, Naples and the Keys on the Gulf side, and Jacksonville south down the Atlantic coast through Daytona, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami. If it is in Florida and there is water to train in, ask.

How much lead time do you need for travel instruction?

As much as you can give her. A course needs self-paced academics, a pool or confined-water session, and open-water dives planned around weather and tides — so the further ahead you ask, the better the pool, boat and date options she can line up for you. Short notice is worth asking about anyway.

Does travel instruction cost more than a course in Venice?

It depends on how far she is travelling, how many divers you are, and how many days the course runs. There is no single number to publish honestly, so she quotes each trip directly — send your dates and group size and she will reply with current rates and what is included.

Can you certify me if there is no dive shop near me?

Yes. Kaitlyn arranges the local piece — pool access for confined-water training and boat or shore access for open-water dives — as part of the course plan, and your academics are done online beforehand. You are not required to travel to a dive centre on her doorstep.

What can she teach away from Venice?

Open Water certification, private one-on-one lessons, small-group and family courses, scuba refreshers, and continuing education up to Divemaster and Divemaster-level mentorship. The guided megalodon shark-tooth dives are the one thing that stays in Venice, because that is where the fossil beds are.

Do you teach children and complete beginners?

Yes to both — junior certifications start at 10 years old, and Kaitlyn has certified divers from 10 to 80. She is a popular choice for nervous first-timers and for parents who want their kids taught one-on-one rather than in a crowd.
