Captain Kaitlyn Scuba / Scuba Across Florida / Palm Beach & Treasure Coast
📍 Atlantic Coast · West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Stuart & Fort PierceAsk divers who live on Florida’s east coast where the best water in the state is and most of them will say Palm Beach or Jupiter. The Gulf Stream pushes close to shore here, which is why you get warm blue water, big animals, and one of the most famous shore dives in the country.
Real sites, with honest depths. Kaitlyn will tell you which of these your certification level actually suits before you book anything.
A shore dive under the Blue Heron Boulevard bridge with an 800-foot artificial reef and famously dense macro life. No boat needed, and the best conditions are at slack high tide — plan your day around the tide table.
Where the Gulf Stream runs closest to shore in Florida. Drift diving with turtles, reef sharks, goliath grouper and regular big-pelagic encounters.
Treasure Coast reef and ledge sites, quieter than Jupiter and good for a relaxed training or pleasure day.
The county’s offshore wreck fleet — the natural next step for Advanced and wreck training.
It is unusual to find a world-class dive with a free parking lot, but that is Blue Heron Bridge: shallow, shore-accessible, and packed with critters. For instruction it is close to ideal — you walk in, you can stand up if you need to, and the small stuff on the bottom gives a new diver something to look at while their skills come together. Time it to slack high tide, because at full flow the inlet does not forgive.
Gulf Stream drift dives are the signature of this region, and they are a skill rather than just a location: boat deployment, staying with the group at speed, deploying a surface marker, and surfacing into traffic. Kaitlyn teaches all of it deliberately before throwing you into a 2-knot ride.
She comes to you. Kaitlyn is based in Venice and travels for instruction across Florida — Palm Beach & Treasure Coast included. Give her as much lead time as you can and she arranges the pool, the boat and the dates around your group rather than handing you a fixed class calendar. Travel cost and scheduling depend on distance, group size, and how many days you need; she quotes it directly when you send your dates.
Send your dates, how many divers, and any certification you already hold. Kaitlyn replies personally with a plan and current rates.
Yes on a slack tide — it is shallow, shore-accessible and genuinely beginner-friendly. It is also a legitimate open-water training site, which is rare for a dive on the world’s list of famous ones.
The aggregation on local wrecks runs through the late summer and into fall, when dozens of fish in the 300–500 lb class stack up on structure. If that is a bucket-list dive for you, ask Kaitlyn to time a trip to it.
